I have served as Lead Pastor at First Assembly of God since February of 2020. I and my wife Mary came to Baxter Springs with 45 plus years of Pastoral ministry.  I came to faith in Jesus in June of 1968 and have served Him since that time.  Although I have not served with perfection, God has kept me faithful and moving forward.  One of the Scriptures I stand on is 2 Corinthians 1:21,22 (NLT), which says, "It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ.  He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us."

My ministry is driven by a deep love for God and His Word, and a deep love for people Whom Jesus came and died for.  I place the same value in people as God does, wanting to see them come to faith in Christ and grow in that faith.  I have served various capacities with the Assemblies of God Kansas Ministry Network include serving on the Board of Directors.  I have mentored men and boys throughout my ministry helping them to grow in Christ and into productive ministry.

Mary and I have been married since May 7, 1977 raising 4 children to love and serve Jesus.

Office Administrator

Hello,

My name is Dan.

The church has one small office from which I operate, overseeing day-to-day office operations. I serve as a volunteer, and my hours are not set in stone. As long as the work gets done and bills are paid on time, I can come and go as I please. I became a member of Baxter First Assembly in May of 2010 and have been volunteering in many areas before and since I joined.

Serving is a verb showing action, and the Bible tells us that we are to serve God by serving others.  Among the many scriptures that speak about "serving", is Hebrews 6:10, "For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for His name in serving others."  True, you cannot WORK your way into heaven, but when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord AND Savior, He changes your heart.  And one of those changes will (should) move you to want to SERVE.

  • In Christ Jesus, you have become a new creation and a son of God. “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Custodial Team

Vickie Ernst

Hello,

My name is Vickie.

First Assembly has been my home church for 40 years, and I am one of the custodians here.

In my walk with the Lord, he has seen me through good and bad times.

He has never failed me. Jesus is my everything.

He has reminded me to keep my eyes on him and not what is going on around me.

Here is a scripture that I would like to share with you.

"Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning it's shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

Hebrews 12:2-3

Hey there!

My name is Andrea.

God has done such a work in me to bring me here; So, I am thankful to be writing this for you today.

Thanksgiving of 2018, I decided to get clean after 1 year or so of drug addiction; that is when God really grabbed my heart.

Although, I have been in church nearly all my life, I realized that even one who has grown up in church, needs saved as much as anyone else.

12 years old is when I started on my first worship team in youth; and led in all services until I was 18 years old, which is when I walked away from God.

I thought I had every reason to be bitter against people who hurt my feelings.

Most of all, I thought I was above, exempt from what God's word says about hate & Bitterness.

But I continued, for 4 years; In turn, I became what I hated most, a hypocrite.

Needless to say, 2018 was the year my heart turned 180 back to Jesus.

In Fall of 2020 is when I began my journey here at First Assembly.

Leading worship, is about submitting to the agenda of the King, setting the table for the Bride and groom, being humble and not taking any attention for myself, but to serve with humility and gentleness.

The call is to encourage growth, individuality, and sharing how important each music & media teammate is , in the grand beautiful picture , The Church.

We serve together , leading the Bride to her seat at the table with her soon to be, in preparation for what is to come for us all in heaven.

It is my honor to serve Jesus

It is also an honor to write this for you today.

Blessings, Andrea.

"God sees us ALL with equal value, PRICELESS.

You are not a burden to be loved."
